The Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council (CELAM) will officially present the document of the Ecclesial Assembly “Towards a synodal Church that reaches out to the peripheries. Reflections and pastoral proposals of the First Ecclesial Assembly of Latin America and the Caribbean“.
In a press conference, the document that represents the fruit of the synodal process that has gone through the Latin American and Caribbean Church will be known. The publication collects the pastoral proposals and the lines of action that emerged from the Ecclesial Assembly held from 22 to 28 November 2021 in Mexico City, with over 1,000 participants personally and remotely.
The pastoral guidelines set out in the document of the Ecclesial Assembly take on the challenges of the continent’s reality; unmasked by the people of God during the listening that precedes the ecclesial assembly and widely discussed in a path of synodal discernment that proposes a new itinerary for the pastoral action of the Church in Latin America and the Caribbean.
A proposal consistent with Pope Francis’ call to live the experience of synodality and which calls us as missionary disciples at the service of an outgoing Church that contributes with experience to the next Synod of synodality.
