Flooded parts of the city, flooded subway ducts, faded bridges and rail lines, dead people: Ten years ago, Hurricane Sandy hit New York hard, particularly the offshore islands and coastal areas on the outskirts of the city.
The New York drama started on a Monday. On October 29, 2012, after sunset, Hurricane Sandy hit the metropolis with all its force. It has flooded entire districts, flooded subway shafts, undermined bridges and railway lines. 44 people died and half a million inhabitants of the big city did not have electricity for a long time.
