What is Facebook profile blocking
Facebook profile blocking is a feature that allows you to block your profile and show a limited view of your profile content to people who have not been added to your friends list. When you block your Facebook profile, your photos, stories, news, and photos posted to your timeline are only accessible to people who have been added to your friends list. Also, all of your previous public posts will be changed to Friends only. Only a selected portion of your “About Us” information is visible to anyone who visits your profile.
What is profile picture protection
Facebook Profile Picture Guard is another Facebook security feature where a blue shield appears on your photo and no one can copy, share or download this photo or take a screenshot of it. After enabling Profile Picture Guard, only you and your friends can tag your profile picture. This shield is basically a one-click privacy setting for your profile picture.

Keep in mind that you cannot do this on your laptop or PC. These settings to block your Facebook profile are only available for the mobile application.
To block your Facebook profile-
- Click on that three points in the upper right corner of your Facebook account.
- Click on block profile and you will receive a confirmation page that says “Your profile is blocked”.
Now only your friends can see your full size profile photo, and people not added to your friends list can see a maximum of 5 details on your profile.
Likewise, you can unblock your profile whenever you want.
- Click on that three points in the upper right corner of your Facebook account.
- Click on unlock the profile and you will receive a confirmation page that says “Your profile is unlocked”.

Note that you cannot activate Profile Picture Guard from your PC or laptop. These settings are only available for the Facebook mobile application.

To enable profile picture protection:
- Go to your Facebook profile and tap the profile picture.
- Select the option “Turn on profile picture protection”
- Click Next.
- Click Save and that’s it.
You can also disable profile picture protection
- Go to your Facebook profile and tap the profile picture.
- Select the “Disable profile picture protection” option
- Click Next.
- Click Save and that’s it.
