With the participation of over 50 students from the Almirante Miguel Grau school, which belongs to the jurisdiction of the I-4 Santa Julia health facility in the Piura region, the Second National Day of the Regular Vaccination System was launched by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Regional Directorate of Health of Piura.
On this occasion, the Healthcare sector aims to fill the vaccination gaps of the Regular Regime, therefore it has promoted various actions through the campaign called “Vaccino, I protect”, hoping for a high vaccination coverage.
For his part, the regional director of Health, Fernando Agüero Mija, urged parents to protect the health of their minor children: “Our vaccination day will continue on 29 and 30 in all health facilities since we have all vaccines. Today. we invite parents to complete their respective vaccines that will allow them to protect their children, “he said.
Diresa Piura’s aim is to vaccinate 3,465 children under 5, pregnant mothers, girls between 9 and 13 and the elderly against 27 vaccine-preventable diseases, which is why it has ordered the supply of 17 vaccines in all health facilities. In addition, it has established as a strategy the mobilization of various vaccination brigades that will allow the vaccine to be brought closer to the population in the most distant areas of the region.
La Minsa aims to vaccinate 56,094 children under 5 across the country. He indicated that cases of polio and measles have occurred in some countries in the region, alerting our country to vaccination coverage against these diseases.
