More than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Daejeon for five consecutive days.
According to the city of Daejeon on the 29th, 1,186 people tested positive for COVID-19 the day before.
Previously, 1,443 people had been confirmed on 24, 1,164 on 25, 1.76 on 26, and 1.35 on 27, respectively.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the past week is 7,235, with an average of 1.34 per day.
The average daily weekly number of confirmed cases increased by 301 from a week ago.
The infection reproduction index, which shows how many people a confirmed person infects close people, also increased from 1.14 a week ago to 1.20.
So far, 739,517 people have been confirmed, or 51.2% of the total population.
Another confirmed person aged 80 has died, bringing the total death toll in the region to 794.
In critically ill beds, 28 people (7 in severe cases and 21 in semi-severe cases) are being treated and 46 people are hospitalized in moderately severe cases.
5,752 people are receiving care at home.
