The “Salama” program, led primarily by a group of volunteers, includes awareness sessions and workshops on important mental health issues, encourages employees to prioritize this important aspect of their overall health and to get rid of the false stereotype it could avoid to seek help in the event of any mental illness injury.

The EGA has the ambitious goal of eliminating the risks of these diseases, as well as working to promote mental health, as part of its efforts to achieve its goal: “Together we create a modern integrated life from aluminum”.

Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminum, said: “We seek to be a role model in protecting the mental health of workers in the global aluminum industry, focusing on creating a psychologically safe environment while providing support to those who need it, as well as spreading a culture of open mental health discussions. These efforts benefit various operations, because companies that care about their employees’ mental health can embrace innovation, attract and retain best talents “.

Mental health is defined as a state in which an individual realizes their potential, is able to cope with normal daily stresses and is able to improve their contribution to their work.

It is worth noting that the Salama program was launched in 2017 to assist EGA employees and their families by providing practical advice and providing various resources needed to address personal matters.
