To continue promoting the growth of Colombian agriculture, Microsoft, Croper and Managro have formed an alliance with connect 1,500 manufacturers in the municipality of Jericó, located in the department of Antioquia.
This alliance seeks to operate as an ecosystem that promotes agricultural activities in the country by providing solutions to great challenges on the pitchfrom connectivity and innovation, to access to markets, to financing and exports.
A key part of this alliance is Croper, an agricultural market that connects agricultural producers with suppliers of inputs, access to credit and buyers for their products.
With this alliance, the company hopes so more producers can increase their profits reducing intermediaries in the supply chain.
“With the connections generated by Croper, an agricultural producer can improve his productivity by 30% e reduce costs by up to 50%, make your business more profitable. If we add to this the Internet connectivity that Microsoft and Managro are building, we will expand access to connections for manufacturers, improving their chances of progress, ”says Ricardo Jaramillo, co-founder and executive director of Croper.
Microsoft’s contribution to this alliance is on two fronts: the first is the experience the company has in terms of connectivity in rural areas. Through the Airband program, the company brought high-speed Internet to 190 schools40 community centers and 180,000 farmers in 9 departments in remote areas of the country.

Microsoft’s second contribution to this alliance is yours technology designed for the field, “This connectivity is accompanied by educational and health programs that improve community well-being and digital skills training programs,” says Germán Otálora, director of Microsoft’s Airband program for Latin America.

The other essential ally is Managro, a powerful conglomerate investing in the agricultural sector in Latin America and which includes one of the largest packers in Colombia.

This alliance will enable the implementation of sensors and connect analytics services and smart farming so that farmers can make better decisions and be more productive.
The announcement of the alliance took place as part of Expo Agrofuturo, which brings together all the players in the agricultural sector in Colombia and Latin America.
