DUBAI, 27 October / WAM / The 13th edition of the Dubai Festival for Youth Theater, organized by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture”, ended yesterday with a ceremony that honored the knights of the theater on the stage of a Culture and Science in Dubai.
Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, “Dubai Culture”, stressed the importance of the steps taken by the Dubai Festival for Youth Theater from its launch in 2006 until today, noting that the Dubai Festival for Youth Theater has had success in recent years by making a qualitative leap in the local theater scene. , during which he maintains the qualitative communication between the theater as a vibrant and vivid act, and the audience as one of the most important elements of the creative process.
Badri said the festival has helped support young talent and inject new blood into the local theater’s veins, noting that the Emirate of Dubai has played an important role in solidifying the foundations of theatrical art, creating a sustainable creative environment in able to promote Emirati theater, with the aim of placing it in the global theater map.
Over the course of an entire week, the Dubai Festival for Youth Theater hosted 6 different performances and this year the festival celebrated the skilled artist Samira Ahmed as the “Theatrical Personality of the Year” in appreciation for her efforts and his artistic donations.
The Modern Theater Troupe show “The Frame” won the award for the best integrated theater performance and the artist Mohamed Gomaa won the award for the best theater direction for the play “The Frame” and the award for the best theatrical text went to Saud Al-Zarouni for the comedy “The Frame”, and won the award for best actor in a first role. Artist Khalifa Nasser for his role in the comedy “Al-Bawaz” and artist Mazen Al-Zadjali for his role in Yas Theater Group’s comedy “Dobie”.
The award for best “leading actress” was shared equally by artist Sarah Al-Saadi for her role in the comedy “Al-Bawaz”, and by artist Amna Al-Suwaidi for her role in the comedy “Story “of the Dubai Al-Ahly Theater Group, while the award for best” second role actor “was shared equally by the artist Muhammad Ishaq for his role in the play” Al-Bawaz “and by the artist Abdullah Nabil for his role in the Kalba Association for Folklore and Theater Troupe play “To Whom It May Concern”, while artist Amal Hassan won the “Best Actress in a Second Role” award for her role in the comedy “For Whom.” It May Concern “by the Dubai National Theater Troupe, while artist Khawla Abdel Salam won the” Best New Talent “award for her role in the Dubai Al Ahli Theater Company comedy” Story “.
Abdullah Al Hammadi won the prize for the best “furniture” for the show “Dobby” of the Yas Theater Troupe, while the prize for the best “lighting” was won by Youssef Al-Qassab for the show “When the Curtain Lifts” for the Dubai National Theater Troupe, while Abdul Aziz Al-Khamis won the award for best “Sound and Musical Effects” for the comedy “When the Curtain Lifts” and Sultan bin Dafon won the award for the best costumes for comedy “The Last News” by Zayed Theater Troupe, while the prize for best makeup went to Ali Bishaw for the show “Akher Khabar”, while the show “Story” by the Dubai National Theater Troupe won the Special Jury Award.
