The first Planetarium of Aquitaine will open in Talence | News

Lunar and already spectacular … First of its kind in the region (except that of Poitiers at Espace Mendès France), a Planetarium will see the light in Talence in 2026.

A future that is both cultural, scientific and educational

Questioned by our editorial staff, Emmanuel Sallaberry, Mayor of Talence, specifies that the idea of ​​the Planetarium “navigates the scientific and spatial culture of the city of Talence”. This flagship project of cultural policy, it will be installed near the Forum. The scientific instrument for family and educational purposes will be able to do this accommodate 80 people. This represents, on average, 2 classes.

Open to all, and aimed mainly at families and enthusiasts, the Talence Planetarium will be a unique opportunity for alearn more about planets and stars, the origin of life, comets and everything in the sky. Also, a whole section on the global warming and the preservation of the oceans is planned.

Spectacular equipment worth 4.5 million euros

The educational space will offer a real scientific journey with new experiments. Joint programs with Cap Sciences are also underway. Without forgetting the Observers of the Gironde (the one on the right bank or even Martignas-sur-Jalle), like large astronomical structures, with which fun activities can be imagined.

The total cost of the project is 4.5 million euros. Even before being concrete, this large-scale structure already aims at rreigns beyond Talence and the metropolis. Would it have the ambition to touch the stars?
