The exhibition by Kates Krolles and Reiņš Bērziņš / Diena can be seen in the smallest gallery in Riga

Kati Krolli and Reini Bērziņu share an interest in the interaction of natural elements with human life, the contrasts and parallels that emerge between different visual media, as well as privacy and shared experience. The two artists are linked not only by common conviction and aesthetic direction, but also by coexistence, family relationships and the education of children in an environment far from the urban environment. Therefore, nature is not only a source of inspiration for the creation of art, but also a real and complete life circumstance that fits into the portrait of the authors’ family.

At the show Family portrait, which was impulsively created especially for the Riga Small Gallery, Kate Krolle and Reinis Bērziņš combined three elements: a painting, a spatial continuation of the painting placed on an inclined plane and an almost transparent head attached to it. Three individuals who, according to the story of the showcase, show off a bit and make us reflect on the similarities that can be found between these elements.
