NEW YORK – The New York City Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly pushed a woman down the stairs of a subway station in Queens, authorities said Wednesday.
Authorities said the victim, a 22-year-old woman, was approached by an unknown individual around 5:20 am while on a platform of train No. 7 northbound at 82nd Street – Jackson Heights station in Queens.
Without any prior interaction, the unidentified man punched the young woman in the face and pushed her down a flight of stairs to the train’s mezzanine, according to the NYPD.
After the attack, the alleged attacker proceeded to throw the victim’s sack down the stairs, before fleeing in an unknown direction. The 22-year-old suffered injuries to her left knee, back and right hand. She left the scene in private and was treated at New York Health and Hospitals / Elmhurst in stable condition, according to officials.
