And it is done. They banned gasoline lawnmowers

If anyone thought that the campaign against emissions will end with cars switching to electric drive on a large scale and that internal combustion engines cannot be sold over time, they would be wrong. The goal of the most progressive advocates of an emission-free society are, of course, all producers of greenhouse gases.

A major source of pollution

And apparently, a fairly significant source is gasoline lawnmowers. They are still very popular, mainly due to their performance and ease of use. But when you use such a lawn mower, you probably feel it a lot too. Some filters and technologies that prevent emissions have not arrived in this sector, so the engines here still run in their pure state. But this also means that no matter how small they are, they pollute the air a lot.

In today’s world, this means an unequivocal stop for this type of lawn mower. In California, they have decided to ban its sale from 2024. From then on, only electric lawnmowers, both plug-in and battery-powered, will be sold.

The truth is, it doesn’t hurt much in this industry, because electric lawn mowers have been well established in the market for many years and are comparable to gasoline-powered ones in many ways. It’s not just about lawn mowers, the ban applies to all devices with less than 25 horsepower. This will be the end of gasoline saws, hedge trimmers or pumps.

It will be the same with us

A few years later, there is also a ban on electricity generators that run on gasoline or diesel. These are very important when the electricity goes out. However, by 2028 they must be replaced by storage batteries.

You may think California is far away. However, these things are global, at least as far as the Western world is concerned. The rest of the states of the United States often copy California’s legislation because it is the most powerful economy. Furthermore, manufacturers are also adapting to conditions and will at least relegate gasoline lawnmowers to oblivion. A similar regulation can also be envisaged within the entire EU.
