9/10 Steve and Hayley Smith shine when left to fend for themselves
American father
Animated comedies are sometimes placed in a class of their own, but many of them are still suitable for sitcoms, especially those centered around a family. American father centers on Stan Smith, a stubborn and opinionated CIA agent who tries to support his family.
Stan’s children, Hayley and Steve, are quite stereotyped for their age, but they are often a source of ridiculous and unexpected fun. Hayley’s slacker personality often gets the better of her, while Steve’s wishes are often a response to her poor social standing at school. Hayley’s lack of purpose and Steve’s desperation culminate in some of the best episodes of American father.
8/10 The Dunphy brothers look like they came out of real life
Modern family
Modern family ran for 11 seasons and, as the name suggests, prioritizes family-centered storytelling. Modern Family explored common ideas through the diverse make-up of this family, which was allowed to grow and change over the course of the series’ ten years.
Haley, Alex and Luke Dunphy get a lot of attention and fit comfortably into unique character models, which only take on greater depth in the context of their cousins Manny, Lily and Joe. There is also a lot of nonsense between Claire and Mitchell, representing the first branch of the Pritchett / Dunphy family tree.
7/10 Morty and Summer Smith have become better allies over time
Rick and Morty
Rick yMorty has become one of the biggest television sensations thanks to its fearless ability to subvert science fiction and genre tropes through conventional family sitcom antics. Most of the Rick and Morty Morty is paired with his toxic grandfather, Rick, but this structure has evolved to include Morty’s sister Summer in the photo.
Summer was indifferent to Rick’s sci-fi exploits, but she learned to use them to her advantage. The episodes that allow Morty and Summer to bounce on each other, regardless of whether radical science is present or not, are few and far between, but always fun.

Each of the sitcom’s six main characters has their own characteristics, but Ross and Monica Gellar are the only siblings in the group. At the end of Friends, everyone feels like family, but there is an additional level of understanding and nonsense that Ross and Monica generate.
5/10 David and Alexis Rose are the perfect siblings of the fish out of water
The Schitt cove
Shit‘s Creek is one of Canada’s most successful comedies and its sweet optimism has come at the perfect time for audiences. Stories of fish out of water are particularly prevalent in plays and Schitt’s simple exam Stream of the wealthy Rose family as they humiliate themselves in the titular rural community is a perfect interpretation of the trope.
None of the Roses initially thrive in this context, but David and Alexis’ struggles are particularly comical. Their problems are more difficult, but it is also more rewarding when they genuinely find a sense of connection and love in this community.
4/10 The Crane brothers are two sides of the same coin

Mac, Charlie and Frank are the highlights of the series, but it’s the chaotic impulses of twins Dennis and Dee Reynolds that are the most hilarious and incredible. Dennis and Dee are arguably more dysfunctional than their friends, but their ego pushes them to hilarious and dangerous places.
2/10 The Banks brothers were Will’s perfect rivals
The Prince of Bel-Air
the cool princethe bell -Air ran for nearly 150 episodes and was instrumental in cementing Will Smith’s status as a legitimate actor and comedic talent. The Prince Fresh is another fish out of water story as Will leaves West Philly to share the comfortable lifestyle of his cousins in Bel-Air.

1/10 The Bluth brothers are badly damaged in several ways
Development stopped
Perhaps the fourth and fifth season of ArrestedDevelopment Netflix may not have ended this historical comedy on the fanciest note, but the deeply serialized sitcom has left an undeniable mark on the genre. Dysfunctional families are the order of the day in sitcoms, but the deluded and disaffected Bluth di Arrested The development certainly does justice to their series title.
All members of the Bluth family of Arrested Developments are fascinating case studies of the ego, but Michael, GOB, Lindsay, and Buster are all flawed in completely different ways. It’s always fun when any combination of these siblings has to work together, not to mention all four.
