This Wednesday, the public will be able to greet actor Josef Somr in the ceremonial hall of the Strašnice crematorium in Prague. A member for decades of the National Dramatic Theater, a popular stage, radio, television and film actor, he died on October 16 at the age of 88.
Somr has played more than 170 characters in the movies. His most famous role is probably that of Chief Traffic Officer Hubička, the railway seducer in Jiří Menzel’s Academy Award-winning film, Closely Watched Trains.
