US President Joe Biden received a dose of an updated vaccine against the Corona virus (Covid-19) on Tuesday and urged Americans to get that booster dose before the upcoming holiday season, especially the elderly.
Just before receiving the dose at the White House in Washington, Biden said, “I ask all Americans to take their doses as soon as possible.”
While some Americans reject vaccines, Biden urged them to put aside partisan politics, noting that more than a million people have died in the United States from Covid-19.
Only 20 million people in the United States have received the updated vaccine, and one in five elders have received it, according to the White House.
Biden urged his countrymen to have the booster fired by the end of October, in order to provide protection during the holidays.
The Corona virus continues to spread and claim lives, as the United States records over 260,000 new infections a week and about 2,600 deaths, according to data from the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
