Dahle, a Northwest California farmer who also owns a trucking business, said it costs him $ 200 a day to put diesel fuel in his trucks, a cost he says has raised the price of food. He said California should have used its record budget surplus to suspend the state gas tax, which he believes would amount to a $ 1,700 refund to taxpayers. “He has no contact with middle-class Californians who work hard every day,” Dahle said. “Yes, he and his friends can afford $ 70,000 Tesla, but Californians in general have no choice but to suffer from the policies introduced by Gavin Newsom.”
