Neymar enters politics. He wants to dedicate a goal to the Brazilian president

The Brazilian footballer Neymar dedicates his first goal at the next World Cup in Qatar to the president of the South American country Jair Bolsonaro. He announced his support for the politician a week before the second round of the Brazilian presidential elections (November 30), in which the current president is also in the running.

“First goal: with both hands,” said Neymar on Instagram, referring to the number 22 – with which Bolsonaro is running for the elections. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is a longtime supporter of Bolsonaro and has in the past claimed that the politician supported him through the toughest moments in his life.

The 30-year-old Brazilian international was likely referring to the rape allegations, which were dismissed by the court in June. Bolsonaro said in 2019 that he is convinced of Neymar’s innocence. The president’s opponent, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, also reacted to the latest statement of support – he said with a laugh that the footballer probably doesn’t want to deal with the tax evasion that Bolsonaro has forgiven him.

The World Cup in Qatar starts on November 20th and ends on December 18th. Brazil begins Thursday 24 November with the match against Serbia and fight for promotion from Group G against Switzerland (28 December) and Cameroon (2 December). The information was disseminated by various French and German media.
