In the first round of the Slovenian presidential elections, the Conservative candidate has the most votes / Diena

Logars, who was the foreign minister in the previous government, received 33.92% of the vote and Pirca Musara – 26.89%, announced the National Electoral Commission after counting almost all the votes.

The outcome of the elections was a disappointment for the center-left government of Prime Minister Robert Golob, given that Milan Brglezs, supported by the government alliance, was ranked only in third place with 15.43% of the votes.

Golob signaled on Sunday evening that he could support Musara in the second round.

“Whoever wins from the center left is not as powerful as the center left itself,” said the premier.

The second round will take place on November 13th.
