– Do not let the peace be taken hostage by the Russian power. Peace is possible, but only Ukrainians can decide it, Macron said in a Sunday speech.
– Peace must be built with others, who are enemies today, around a table, he added.
Macron is at the “Cry for peace” peace conference in Rome. It takes place under the aegis of the Catholic organization Sant’Egidio.
He also supported Western support for Ukraine, saying that at some point it will lead “the Ukrainian people to choose peace on the terms they have set for themselves”.
