The monument is currently in the sculptor’s workshop and its authors are doing everything possible to be able to unveil the monument in Braille on November 18th.
With the tools of a goldsmith and the precision of a goldsmith, work continues on the groups of figures of the monument cast in bronze. The authors of the idea are happy that the money for this tactile monument has been donated, but at the moment only 3.5 thousand euros are missing for installation.
“Thank you very much to everyone who donated! We collected the requested amount, but when we presented the project, the war in Ukraine had not even started. Today there are other costs and today we lack 3,500 euros. If 3,500 people donate. one euro … we’ll have it! ” said Sarma Freiberga, president of the board of directors of the “Nác pjās” foundation.
The opening of the monument is scheduled for November 18.
