British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said on 29 September that two Russian fighters intercepted an unarmed RAF plane during a routine patrol over the Black Sea.
Ben Wallace indicated – in a speech before the British Parliament – that one of the Russian Su-27 fighters fired a missile near the plane of the British RC-135 aircraft, according to the news channel (Russia Today) this evening (Thursday ).
He explained that in light of this potentially dangerous confrontation, he had communicated his concerns directly to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov.
Ben Wallace added that the Black Sea patrols had stopped until he received a response from the Russian side, noting that Britain received a response from the Russian Defense Minister on 10 October that an investigation was conducted. on the circumstances of the accident and it was confirmed that there was a technical malfunction in the Su-27 fighter.
