The local newspaper said the 42-year-old was never able to connect with supporters and that the distance eventually became enormous.
– There is only resentment and despair, they wrote.
Brendan Rodgers, who was Gerrard’s manager at Liverpool, sympathizes with the 42-year-old.
– I think with time and patience he could get the club where he wants to go. I am really disappointed of him, says the Leicester manager, according to the report BBC.
Mauricio Pochettino is said to be one of Aston Villa’s board of directors candidates to take over.
Earlier this week, the Telegraph reported that the club would make an “ambitious attempt” to sign him if Gerrard was fired.
