The Somme counts 17,000 beneficiaries of Active Solidarity Income. This costs the department 113 million euros per year. In the future, Stéphane Haussoulier, its president, would like to impose three mornings of work on all beneficiaries who are able to work in sectors that are struggling to recruit. In case of refusal, the allowance of 598 euros per month would therefore be suspended. The opposition denounces a measure unsuitable for the difficulties suffered by many recipients.
