Some 2023 ‘Galaxy A24’ specs leaked … Old Exynos 7904 installed?

Exynos 7904

Some specs of the Galaxy A24 model, a mid-range smartphone from Samsung Electronics in 2023, have been leaked.

The Galaxy A24 is the successor to the A23 which was released earlier this year. According to Vietnamese media The Pixel, the Galaxy A24 is equipped with a 6.24-inch sAMOLED display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD + resolution. It’s still unclear whether a water-drop notch or cut-out design will be applied.

In particular, The Pixel draws attention by stating that the “Galaxy A24” will be equipped with the older Exynos 7904. The Exynos 7904 chip was announced in January 2019. Manufactured in a 14nm process, it is a composite octa-core chipset. from two high-performance Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz.

In addition, it comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space and provides a 4000mAh battery that supports 15W charging. A 16MP camera is mounted on the front and a composite triple camera is mounted on the back. from a 48MP main camera with OIS support + an 8MP ultra wide angle camera + a 5MP camera.

The authenticity of the leaked specifications has yet to be confirmed. Compared to the specifications of the Galaxy A23, the processor and the main rear camera are downgraded, but the front camera has been upgraded from 8MP to 16MP and the front display should also be upgraded from the LCD panel to the AMOLED panel.

However, in the case of processors, it’s unclear whether Samsung will install an older processor, which is well over three years old, in the A24. It’s possible that The Pixel’s report is wrong. Considering that the Galaxy A23 is equipped with a 6nm Snapdragon 680G chip, some point out that it makes no sense for a 14nm Exynos 7904 chip to be installed in the later model.
