3: 4 defeat in Munich: the recovery of the polar bears Berlin remains without a crown

Champion Eisbären Berlin suffered another setback in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) after his recent recovery. At RB Monaco, manager Serge Aubin’s team lost 3: 4 (0: 2, 1: 1, 2: 1) on Wednesday and slipped to 11th place with 14 points. Monaco consolidated their lead with 28 points.

Andreas Eder (8th) and Jonathon Blum (12th) led the efficient Munich side 2-0 in the opening period in front of 3,790 spectators at the Olympic Ice Stadium.

After the first break, the polar bears increased the pressure and managed to shorten: Zack Boychuk took advantage of a positional error by RB goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger, who otherwise performed well against his former team (24th ). The Berliners then pushed for the equalizer, but the hosts remained constantly under the goal: Daryl Boyle scored with a powerful shot from distance that led to 3-1 (36th).

In the last third, Justin Schütz extended Monaco’s lead (46 ‘). But Matt White after a good preliminary work by Kevin Clark (50th) and Jonas Müller with a shot from the blue line (53rd) made it all exciting again. The Berliners, who had recently won four out of five games, tried to draw, but in vain.
