NEW YORK – Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested in connection with dog attack on Staten Island A day ago he left three people, including a small child, morse, authorities said Wednesday.
Rodney Jones, 48, and Shontay Holland, 29, are accused of reckless danger, aggravated assault and child welfare danger in Thursday afternoon’s out-of-home brawl in York and Prospect Avenue.
It was not clear whether either of them had a lawyer. Police say 10 dogs in total were found in the home, many of whom fled Tuesday and attacked people in the area. Neighbors saw at least four escaped dogs.
Most of the animals in the house were said to be puppies.
The three victims, a 2-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, were bitten on the hands and legs and taken to hospital. All three should be fine.
A woman who witnessed the chaos says a man ended up jumping into a car to avoid the animals.
“[Los perros] they kept going up and down the hill, and across the street a guy got on the roof of the car to get away from them, ”said Coralee Chandler, who was on the porch when she heard barking and screaming.
The helicopter of our sister network NBC 4 New York showed a strong response from the police at home. A large pet carrier was seen in the middle of the street as people crowded outside.
It was not clear what would happen to the dogs still inside the house or to the dogs that attacked pedestrians.
