The German Society of Respiratory Diseases said lung cancer is among the most common types of cancer, noting that smoking is the leading cause of infection.
The association explained that the characteristic symptoms of lung cancer are increased coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, chest pain, and increased phlegm, which may contain blood.
Other symptoms include hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue and wasting, as well as bouts of fever, night sweats, bone pain, and yellowing of the skin.
