  • “The very fact that Russia has turned to Iran for help is a recognition by the Kremlin of its military and political bankruptcy,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an evening video speech.

“For decades they have spent billions of dollars on their military-industrial complex and eventually submitted to Tehran to get enough drones and missiles,” summarized the Ukrainian president.

He noted that Iranian weapons will not help the Russian leadership implement its plans for Ukraine, news.bg reports.

“From a strategic point of view, this will not help them in any way. But now, on a tactical level, the Russian terrorists may still have some hopes, some calculations. All of this will fall apart, as will their previous plans.” Zelensky recalled.

At the same time, he urged Ukrainians to reduce their electricity consumption, especially during peak hours.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian president said that as a result of the Russian strikes, nearly a third of the country’s power plants have shut down since October 10.

In his evening speech, Zelensky praised, among other things, the work of the German air defense system IRIS-T, which was recently handed over to Ukraine.

“I also thank the partners – all those who help us in the field of air and missile defense. For example, the German IRIS-T is doing very well – it is a very effective system,” said the president.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that Germany’s first IRIS-T system was operating in a southerly direction. In the future, Germany intends to deliver three more such systems to Ukraine.
