Hair straightener products threaten uterine cancer

Washington (AFP)

Hair straightening products used by women, especially black women, increase the risk of uterine cancer, according to a new large study conducted by the American Institutes of Health.
This study showed that the risk of uterine cancer more than doubled in women who used these products frequently, i.e. more than four times a year.
Independent experts have praised the usefulness of this research, as it deals with a topic that has not been conducted in many studies on it so far. From the “principle of prevention” we proceeded to ask for the strengthening of the regulatory legislation and the carrying out of further studies on the subject.
