October is Chuck month and Chuck month is all about hearing Martin Wilson talk about Chuck.
… With your imagination like skis
About what you all love:
For money and clothes,
Beyond the time when people kiss …
During the creation of the play, Mārtiņš Vilsons selected from several collections of poems those verses rooted in love, just like in life.
Mārtiņš says he wants to take the audience away from the hustle and bustle, encouraging them to think about time, values, love, underlining the contribution of A. Čaks to Latvian love texts. “I’m sure the poetic performance” Chuck. Wilson. Mirrors of Imagination “reveal not only Chuck as a poet of love, but also a sensitive master of words who puts his experiences and life experiences into poetry. I chose the poem that he resonates with me.”
Even today, as then, the clouds hit the towers, they blush, the cool is sitting on park benches, but for three hours someone has been looking for the only penny in their pocket.
And then sadness appears on the horizon, but life is as complicated as it is short to leave it alone scattered in the wind.
The musical presentation of the evening is in terms of Mārtiņš’s voice and guitar.
Before the show, the public has the opportunity to see the Alexander Chak Museum, which is the last place of the great city poet A. Chak, where he lived from 1937 until his death in 1950.
The special aura that pervades the poet’s works and worldview has been preserved in the apartment. It is a place where everyone is given the opportunity to feel in an authentic environment, which was created and inhabited by the world famous writer – the city and women’s singer, the founder of modern Latvian poetry – Aleksandrs Čaks.
A complete and authentic set of 20th century interiors consisting of two rooms where the poet lived and wrote.
In summer, knitwear, shawls and scarves to wrap comfortably will be suitable for the event.
Entrance to the event one hour before the start of the show.
The duration of the event is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, or while conversations inspired by poetry arise.
Mārtiņš Vilsons has been awarded twice for his collaboration with Chak: in 2021 he was awarded the Aleksandar Chak Award for a vivid and lasting contribution to the creation of Aleksandr Chak’s poetic representations and the interpretation of the poet’s creative values Chuck at Country Peace on Wilson’s porch.
