Real Madrid forward, Frenchman Karim Benzema, won the 66th Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career at a ceremony held by “France Football” magazine in Paris today, Monday.
Benzema overtook former and current Bayern Munich forward, Senegalese Sadio Mane, who finished second. Belgian Kevin De Bruyne finished third, followed by Polish forward Robert Lewandowski, and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah of Egypt finished fifth.
