The renovation of the Busswil school building was successfully completed just in time for the school to start. The building envelope and roof were energetically enhanced.

The facade could be equipped with an additional 22 centimeters insulation and the roof by an additional 15 centimeters. Durable, rear-ventilated Eternit panels serve as weather protection for this insulation, as noted in the current newsletter. The old wooden windows and entrance doors were also replaced, the canopy of the main entrance was enlarged and the broken clock was renewed.
In addition to the heating energy, which can be saved in the future with this intervention, the lamps have also been converted to LED, which leads to electricity savings of around 10 percent with 50 percent more light and, above all, better light quality. The highlight of the renovation is the photovoltaic system in the roof. According to the first results of the simulation, the system has a system utilization rate of 83%. The electricity produced can be consumed directly in the school building. This makes sense as the school operates during the day when the sun is shining. Inside the building, all the rooms, excluding the toilets, have been renovated and the lighting has been enhanced.
The construction commission for this project consisted of Nicole Moser (teacher), Benno Haas (caretaker), Daniel Räss (construction and real estate) and Gabriel Walzthöny (school commission). Thanks to successful prizes, a lean organization and the great commitment of the caretaker team, the CHF 1,421 million building loan was honored.
