Mariama Gviniashvili (Mariam Gviniashvili) focuses on the relationship between sound and space in his works, integrating electronic compositions with three-dimensional computer graphics. The artist currently lives in Oslo, she has performed in concerts and festivals around the world and has won Ars Electronica Award, CIME AWARD awards and Norway EDWARD prize.

M. Gviniashvili completed master’s degree in electronic music composition from the Norwegian Academy of Music, Liszt Academy and a graduate degree from the Tbilisi Conservatory, as well as studying electronic music composition with world-renowned sound artist Natasha Beretta (Natasha Barrett) a Andrea Cigetvari (Andrea Szigetvari).

At the event, all interested will be able to familiarize themselves with the sound principles of ambisonics and their practical use in musical composition, as well as enjoy Mariam Gviniashvili’s electronic concert on an eight-speaker acoustic system. Unlike other multi-channel audio formats, in ambisonic the audio signal is not tied to a specific number or position of speakers and adapts flexibly to different audio systems and situations.

Mariama Gviniashvili has been working with a multi-channel system since 2017 and believes immersive sound is the closest to how we listen to music in real life. Last summer, the composer together with the Norwegian vocal ensemble Nordic voices created his first immersive audiovisual audio work IMMERSION.

The event is organized by the association Artillery 35to spread immersive audio technologies in the Baltic States by organizing face-to-face and online educational events on new audio formats.

Immersive sound is a revolutionary three-dimensional audio format that offers a more natural and immersive listening experience in music, cinema, virtual reality, the video game industry and more. The long-term goal of the project is to ensure the circulation of useful information in society and to promote access to free and open education and free resources for all those who wish to increase their knowledge of the new media environment and opportunities. which it offers to representatives of the creative sphere.
