Job-Start-Börse arrives in Breisach on Thursday and Friday / students and parents can inquire about apprenticeship places.
. The Jobs-Start-Börse returns to Breisach: on Thursday and Friday, October 27 and 28, the regional exchange will open its doors to students, parents and teachers in the Breisgau-Halle. There you will find the stands of 54 training companies and secondary schools.
The regional Jobs-Start-Börse celebrated its 20th birthday in the Endinger Stadthalle last year. This year it is Breisach’s turn as the venue for the event: the roots of the fair lie here and in Endingen, according to Mirko König and Elmar Kern of the AOK in Breisach and Endingen respectively. They then launched the fairs because they realized that there was no platform on which students and companies could easily meet.
“We started with three school classes,” recalls Mirko König, head of the AOK service in Breisach. Up to 1000 young people from the Breisach, Kaiserstuhl and Herbolzheim areas regularly participate in the event. The organizer is now BZ.medien in cooperation with AOK, the Freiburg Employment Agency, Sparkasse, Chamber of Crafts, Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Messe Freiburg, says Julia Schwab, project manager of BZ.medien at Freiburg. The patron of the event is the mayor of Breisach Oliver Rein.
What started as an idea with the health insurance company 21 years ago is now found in schools’ vocational training plans. Internships are also popular with Job-Start exchanges: “You don’t have to be afraid of formal mistakes here, that’s the interesting thing,” says König. “There are companies that have been there since the beginning. It shows that it’s worth it,” says Kern, Head of Services at Endinger AOK. One of the secrets to success is that young visitors meet trainees and vocational school students who speak specifically about their experiences in training companies – these are very informal offers. Parents can also get an idea of job descriptions and companies and find out what is expected of young people.
A total of 54 companies and institutions will present 99 apprenticeships and 48 dual courses on Thursday and Friday. For example, car dealers, health insurance companies, large industrial companies, credit institutions, care facilities, service providers, the Bundeswehr, the tax office, Europa-Park in Rust, a pharmacy and many more they announced their presence. The University of Furtwangen, the Breisach vocational school, the Chamber of Crafts and the Freiburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce also provide information. Elmar Kern advises schoolchildren to think about which stands they would like to visit before visiting, as the variety of information is always very wide. Virtual tours can also serve this purpose: many professions, companies and institutions will be available until November 18 http://www.jobstartboerse.de/virtuellemesse even shortly before on the Internet.
It is important for organizers to offer regional platforms on site. Between 18 and 26 October, therefore, there are other job start fairs in Müllheim, Titisee-Neustadt, Emmendingen and Waldkirch; Breisach concludes the series. A one-way regulation through the corridors proved valid following the Corona measures.
Exchange of start of work in Breisgau-Halle Breisach, Breisgaustraße 6, Thursday 27 October from 18:00 to 20:30 and Friday 28 October from 9:00 to 12:30. Free entry.
