TIME.CO, Jakarta – The president of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi, is of the opinion that infiltration wells it is a good program for dealing with the floods in Jakarta. However, so far, the construction of infiltration wells is not in the right place.
“In fact, infiltration wells are a good program, it’s just a bewilderment. If an infiltration well is installed on the asphalt road, the water does not leak, eventually the water is drawn from the infiltration well, thrown away, it’s useless, “he said when he welcomed Heru Budi Hartono’s first day as interim governor of DKI at the city hall, Monday October 17, 2022.
He also called for flood management to be done upstream and downstream so that infiltration wells can be more optimal.
“Upstream and downstream they have been reclaimed. The question is, is it still flooding? I answered yes, it is still flooding, the small ones are being reclaimed. Upstream and downstream they have not been fixed, infiltration wells have entered and implementation it’s wrong, “he said as reported by Antara.
He also encouraged the provincial government of the DKI to provide subsidies to buffer areas such as Bogor so that the Puncak area can be maintained with regards to flood control.
“Jakarta, the area below and supporting Jakarta, must receive a grant, just as it was given to Bogor in the past so that it doesn’t build Puncak,” he said.
The infiltration well will still be used by Heru Budi
Heru Budi Hartono said he would continue the infiltration well program that began in the era of Governor Anies Baswedan.
Heru Budi Hartono said the seepage well program is useful for controlling floods, especially in areas that have a basin topography.
“All the plans are good, obviously the infiltration wells can be used for areas that have actually sunk,” Heru said in a press release on his first day of service at Jakarta City Hall on Monday.
In addition to submerged areas, he continued, infiltration wells can also be built in areas below the river’s surface.
As for the continuation of the program, he said, his party will discuss the program with the Jakarta legislature or DPRD.
“We will see that later the discussion will be with the president of the DPRD”, added Heru.
Prasetyo Edi’s attitude is different
Prasetyo Edi’s attitude is at odds with his attitude that abolishes the budget for the construction of infiltration wells. He considered the program useless. A number of Tempo reports noted the PDIP politician’s rejection of the infiltration pit.
It was he who proposed the abolition of the budget for the construction of infiltration wells in the DKI 2022 Regional Budget.
As the person who canceled the Rp 120 billion budget for infiltration wells, Prasetyo Edi, the PDIP politician did not want the budget for the flood prevention project to be budgeted by the APBD.
According to Prasetyo, the infiltration well project is useless. Useless. What exists, according to him, is actually destroying existing roads.
“It’s useless. Now try to see for yourself if it can be maximized? No, it actually destroys everything,” Prasetyo Edi told the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Prasetyo Edi said the sink balance needs to be removed
Prasetyo said he canceled the infiltration well budget in the 2022 DKI APBD draft. As a determinant of Banggar, the PDIP politician said he has the right to cancel budgets that were not optimally executed.
Therefore, he rejected the DKI provincial government’s plan to include another budget allocation for the infiltration pit program. He stated that the discussion on the 2022 DKI regional budget was ratified in November 2021.
“It cannot be re-entered. If it is re-entered, it is invisible,” he said.
He also judged infiltration wells more useful as a catfish pond. He asked the Department of Food, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KPKP) to make it a catfish pond.
“This should work with the DKI KPKP office, put the catfish in it and then the people who care for and feed it. It can be a source of income,” the PDIP politician said.
