Meta Horizon Worlds VR Platform Lowers Monthly Visitor Target | Tech

Facebook’s parent company Meta is cutting its goal of having 500,000 monthly users on its Horizon Worlds virtual reality platform by the end of the year. Social media now assumes 280,000 monthly users, he reports The Wall Street newspaper.

According to the American newspaper, Horizon Worlds, on which virtual reality games can be played, currently has about 200,000 monthly users. At the beginning of this year, there were still 300,000.

Meta plans to invest a lot of money in the near future to make augmented reality and virtual reality a success. The company is building its own metaverse: a virtual world where users come together to work, play and talk.

A spokesperson for Meta leaves a comment The Wall Street newspaper know that building the metaverse “is a multi-year plan”. The company claims to continuously make improvements to the platform.

Adults in the US and Canada have been able to use the platform since December. Horizon Worlds is not yet available in the Netherlands. It is also not clear when this will happen.
