Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov gave surprising news about the state of the Trakia highway.
“The whole section from Nova Zagora to Yambol will probably have to be fundamentally repaired. It is about 30 km away. In about a year, the section from Nova Zagora to Stara Zagora will also need major repairs,” Shishkov said in an interview with bTV.
“We carried out an inspection of lots 2 and 3 together with the Ministry of the Interior. What we found is that a part of the asphalt is missing. The asphalt should be 220 mm. The asphalt sample shows that in different sections it varies between 190 and 200 millimeters. We have a loss in the general layer. The wear layer should be 4 cm, this is between 32 and 34 millimeters and in some places 30 millimeters, “he added.
According to him, in about 10 days there will be the results of the laboratory on the quality of the materials used.
Road maintenance will be ensured from next year, he said.
