The course of the game
Minimal chances presented throughout the first half. Several experiments by both teams were also meaningless.
The match started to heat up in the 20th minute. Tottenham tried their luck with Harry Kane, but the England badge shot was blocked on 22 minutes.
A minute later, Everton threatened. Demarai Gray’s right-footed shot is still too high from Tottenham’s goal.
Everton again spread the threat through James Tarkowski in the 30th minute. Using a corner, Tarkowski’s header is still off target.
The first shot on goal was finally born from Tottenham. Kane, paired with Ivan Perisic, fired a left-footed shot that Jordan Pickford could still save.
In the 41st minute, Tottenham scored a free kick near the Everton penalty area after Matt Doherty was fouled. In injury time, even Kane’s pass in front of the penalty area was not maximized by Richarlison. Until the interval, the score remained 0-0.
The second half rolled, Tottenham seemed to dominate the game more than Everton. Until the end, the hosts scored a goal from a penalty from Harry Kane.
Starting with Matt Doherty’s kick, the ball could be pushed by Pickford. Kane, who was in goal, tried to grab him, until eventually the Everton goalkeeper’s hand seemed to block Kane’s steps. The referee whistles the penalty, then Kane turns it directly into the net. Score 1-0 for Tottenham.
After that goal, Tottenham seemed to dominate the game. There was hardly any significant threat to be spread from Everton, who fought a lot on the pitch.
Objective! At 86 ‘Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg could double the position of Tottenham. The Danish midfielder was able to maximize Rodrigo Bentacur’s cross from the right.
Hoejbjerg can receive the ball in the penalty area, then hold it. With jelly, Hoejbjerg fired on the right side of Everton’s goal. The ball hit the Everton defender lightly, until he finally entered Pickford’s goal.
Until the game was disbanded, no more goals were created. Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Everton in week 10 Premier League.
