As part of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, “Stories of courage and hope, knowing how to prevent” will be held in Ituzaingó; a proposal in which women who have experienced the disease will tell their experiences.
Specialists will also participate during the day and at the end the shifts for medical examinations and mammograms will be delivered.
The conference will take place at the Municipal Auditorium of Néstor Kirchner (Pedestrian Eva Perón y Soler) on October 19 at 10:00 and will be open to the public.
At the end, participants will be able to take part in the “Mamografiate” campaign, an initiative that seeks to bring the possibility of accessing free shifts on Saturdays to have a mammogram at the Municipal Laboratory and Diagnostic Center (Cedim).
In turn, an information stand of the Sanatorio del Oeste will be set up, where useful information, priority shifts and 50% discount coupons will be delivered to access the mammography.
This study is the only effective diagnosis to detect cancer in its early stage, and is able to detect it even when the lump is not yet palpable or is minimally palpable.
The possibility of cure in cases of early diagnosis is 90% and from the age of 40 it is recommended to carry out this study at least once a year.
Those who cannot attend the day, and have not yet completed the annual gynecological examinations, can make an appointment at the CIM by calling 2120-1947 from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 15.00.
If you already have a medical order to have a mammogram, you can take a shift at Cedim, by calling 2120-1910 or via WhatsApp at 11-5745-9093.
