Latvian soloists have already turned 40.
The success of Ilya Reznik and Raimonds Pauls “Golden Wedding” was decorated with the performance of touching children singing “Grandma next to the grandfather”. The children performed as part of the Latvian ensemble “Kukushechka”. But after the premiere on stage, the little soloists seemed forgotten.
Now the boy Gunar Kalninsh is already 40 years old. He has repeatedly become the winner of numerous Russian and European competitions. But Gunar had to take a big break in his career due to the tragic death of his loved one in a car accident. His girlfriend was very pregnant. After her loss, Kalninsh left for Tibet, where he studied spiritual practices for several years. Now the man shaves his bald head and almost always wears a turban. He moves to Barcelona where he composes music and performs his own songs.
His Cuckoo colleague, Guna Paula, connected fate with music. The 40-year-old blonde lives in her native Riga. She serves at the National Opera, but she doesn’t sing, but plays the flute. In 2019, Guna celebrated her marriage to her boyfriend and gave birth to a daughter.
