Actor Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid in Harry Potter, has died. Died at the age of 72, he is said to have breathed his last at Larbert hospital in Scotland near his home.
Hagrid is said to have been battling a disease for the past two years. The news was confirmed by Coltrane’s agent, Belinda Wright.
Daniel Radcliffe is deeply saddened by the loss of Robbie Coltrane. “I feel very fortunate to have met and worked with him and I am very sad that he died. He was an amazing actor and a wonderful man,” quoted The Washington Post.

What pain?
Robbie Coltrane’s cause of death is not known for sure, Belinda Wright has not explained the illness Coltrane has had in recent years. However, quoted by various sources, the famous Harry Potter actor has a history of osteoarthritis.
One of her photos in a wheelchair in 2019 went viral when it was discovered that she could not walk. Sources at the time revealed that she was in pain and was planning to undergo knee replacement surgery when the deformity damaged her joints.
Coltrane once spoke about his health problems, stating that he was battling pain 24 hours a day while he was an actor on National Treasure and Great Expectations. He told me he didn’t have cartilage in his knees.
However, he managed to recover after undergoing surgery in 2020. The Harry Potter actor said he was finally able to sleep peacefully and painlessly after the surgery.
