The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced that preparations for the launch of the first Emirati mission to the surface of the moon, via the “Rashid” explorer, are well advanced.

He explained in a tweet posted on Twitter, attached to seven photos, the most important steps that the Rashid Explorer final model went through, which included the installation of the final model, system function testing, as well as environmental testing. and including the thermal vacuum, vibration and shock test, as well as the entry test of the final model to the landing craft.

The Emirates Moon Exploration Project team is preparing for the next and final phase of the mission before launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, which includes positioning the explorer on the Japanese “SpaceX” launch rocket 9-15. November, through the “Hakuto-” R spacecraft, which will provide delivery services for the explorer and equipment for the project, and will provide wired and electrical communications during the approach to the moon and radio communications after landing.

On the other hand, EDGE, the Advanced Technology Group, has announced the successful completion of vibration tests within the Rashid Rover project, affiliated with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, within the laboratories of the Center of Excellence for Electro -Optics of the Group.

The tests, conducted by the Emirates Lunar Exploration Project team, confirmed that the structural and electronic systems of the Rashid vehicle qualification model can withstand strong vibrations during its journey to the moon, including the test and take-off experiment. from the ground and landing on the surface of the moon.

Launched in 2019, the center serves as a laboratory for comprehensive product repair, testing and maintenance in the field of laser and monitoring devices. It also provides local suppliers with on-site maintenance of specialized equipment rather than returning it to the manufacturer or country of origin.
