This week, work began on the assembly of the grandstand at the foot of the Roc de Fer slope in Méribel. The stands will host up to 3,500 spectators for the women’s events of the World Championships in Courchevel-Méribel 2023.
At work. After the final visit of the International Federation, the organizers of the 2023 World Cup are accelerating development work at the foot of the slopes. The assembly of the Méribel site began on Monday 10 October in La Chaudanne. “The first phase is the assembly of the 3,500-seat stand, which will be completed next week, explains Thierry Carroz, father’s boss. The scaffolding for the commentary booths will then be assembled until about the end of the month, as well as the structure of the big screen. We then continue with the assembly of the two-storey VIP tent structure in mid-November. At the same time, with the laying of the covering on these different structures, the final decoration will begin to take shape. “
At the same time, the bungalows will be installed on the snowy front of Chaudanne, its surroundings and on the Roc de Fer slope. The next step will be the installation of medium-sized tents (athletes, team members, spectators).
“The whole team is also working hard on the signage and barriers to secure the construction site as a first step and to better organize the traffic flows for the arrival of the resort’s customers and spectators”, explains Thierry Carroz. .
