American Music Awards 2022: who are the nominees? | WADA 2022

Today the names of the artists nominated for the American Music Awards (AMA) 2022 were revealed. Quin the most nominations accumulated was the Puerto Rican Bad Bunny, followed by Drake, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Although it is not yet known who will be the master of ceremonies this year, it is known that the awards ceremony will take place on November 20 in Los Angeles.

One of the most contested categories is Artist of the Year with seven contenders including: Adele, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. Some of these continue to add nominations in this category, beating their own records, such as Taylor Swift who has already competed for this award nine times, behind the singer is Drake who competes for the sixth time, for his part it is the first time that Bad Bunny receives this nomination.

Among this year’s new arrivals to the AMAs are some categories that have been added or reopened, such as: Favorite K-pop Artist, Favorite Afrobeat Artist, Favorite Rock Song, Favorite Rock Album, Favorite Touring Artist and Soundtrack. K-pop has made its way into these awards, as it is the first time that categories of this musical genre have been awarded. The “favorite trending song” category was removed this year.

Billboard reported that “more than 40 artists received their first nominations this year, including the aforementioned Harlow and Tems (four mentions each), Latto (three), Blackpink (one), Anitta (one) and Swedish House Mafia. (one). “
