Neymar assists Kylian Mbappé on penalties – Newsicon 🇩🇪

Kylian Mbappe scored the only goal of the Paris Saint-Germain game when he faced Benfica in Tuesday’s Champions League match at Parc des Princes – and had the support of his teammates after scoring 1-0.

The match ended 1-1 after Benfica drew with Joao Mario in the 62nd minute, ensuring the Portuguese side remained level on points with PSG and second in Group H.

The evening’s headlines are by Mbappe but not his contribution to the game; Earlier in the day it was revealed that the Frenchman is looking to leave PSG and is determined to find a new club.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed: “Kylian Mbappé, not happy with Paris Saint-Germain because the current situation is really tense. He wants to leave the club as soon as possible.”

He also said PSG “has no plans to sell Mbappé in January”.

The 23-year-old’s relations with some teammates also seem to have broken down, namely Lionel Messi and Neymar. In August, a video circulated on social media in which Mbappe seemed to insist on taking a penalty for PSG despite Neymar already holding the ball and was ready to put it on the spot.

Mbappe had already missed a penalty in the Ligue 1 match, but he is the club’s designated shooter. In another match, the Brazilian striker earned a penalty and seems to ask Mbappé if he can take it, which he is obliged to do.

However, when the Parisian equalized the shot last night, Neymar was seen outside the area shouting encouragement to his teammate.

It appears the 30-year-old remains professional despite the ongoing situation and rumors surrounding the club.
