Fizik renews its winter shoes with the Arctic GTX line

Fizik has launched two new winter shoes, the Tempo and the Terra Arcica GTX. Both shoes have been developed to keep out the cold and rain, using a waterproof GORE-TEX layer.
The shoe line is completely aimed at cycling in winter conditions with low temperatures and wet conditions. The inside of the shoes has a fleece lining, while the shoe is insulated with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane.
In addition, the shoes are equipped with a so-called PU laminate; it is a composite fabric consisting of a woven fabric and a layer of polyurethane. In addition to breathability, this combination also offers some waterproof proportions. In fact, it’s sort of a GORE-TEX predecessor, but it works as a second layer to keep moisture out from the outside.
There are no ventilation holes in the bottom of the shoes to keep your feet warm and dry. Both models feature a two-piece closure: a BOA dial and a velcro strap to ensure a snug fit around the ankle.
The Tempo Artica GTX is a shoe to be used on the road bike. Featuring a nylon sole, the shoe isn’t the stiffest, but it offers extra comfort. The Terra Arcica GTX is the off-road shoe of the line and features a studded sole, which consists of nylon and a layer of rubber on the outside for extra grip.
The shoes are available from € 259.
