Kuwaiti team, Kazma, booked the cross card for the semifinals of the Arab League after defeating the Alexandrian team Al-Ittihad with a score of (106-101) in the first matches of the quarter-finals.
The Alexandrian team Al-Ittihad excelled in the first period with the score of (25-18), but in the second period Kazma managed to put pressure on the “gap leader” team to reduce the result to one point and the result became (46-45).
The game reached its ferment with the third and fourth period, when each team drew with a score (94-94) after a fatal triple from American professional Kendall Dicks, so much so that each team went into extra time.
Kazma’s team managed to win the match after resorting to extra time, where the Kuwaiti champion (106-101) won, leading the Kuwaiti team to the semifinals.
Kazma’s team awaits the winner of the Kuwaiti match Al-Ahly and Al-Jahra in the semifinals in a match that will take place at 16:00 Cairo time.
The matches of the quarter-finals are scheduled on Wednesday and are:
Lebanese Sports Club x Beirut Lebanese (14:00)
Al-Ahly × Jahra (16:00)
Kuwait Kuwait x Iraqi University Tigers (18:00)
The two semifinals will be played on Friday, according to the official page of the Arab Basketball Federation.
The final will be played next Saturday, with third and fourth places scheduled on the same day.
Note that Al-Ahly is the last team to win the championship last year, at the expense of Alexandria’s Al-Ittihad, with a score of (78-66) in a match held in the hall ” Borg El Arab “in Alexandria.
