On the occasion of World Mental Health Day on Monday 10 October, the influencer shared an honest post. In the post, Nereng writes that although she didn’t want to, she was unable to “avoid using food in a negative way” after the August breakup.

“When it became too much for me, I found solace in the refrigerator. It sounds so cliché and stupid, but whatever, it seemed like that. I could sit there for hours and eat without feeling full,” she wrote.

Dagbladet has been in contact with Emilie Voe Nereng, who does not wish to comment further on the case, but is aware that the case is under discussion.

“For me, perhaps the feeling of shame was the worst – which, with a background in nutrition, I didn’t know better and lacked self-control,” Nereng further wrote and described it as a sad pattern.

In the post, it appears that the influencer himself quickly reached out to a psychologist for help in dealing with emotions differently. However, Nereng points out that everything got better when she got better herself and that food has now “regained its original function” in everyday life.
