A reintegration plan is being prepared for patients at the Brown-Sequard hospital in Beau-Bassin, who have spent several years in the hospital. This was announced by Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal, in Beau-Bassin, on Monday 10 October. He participated in the launch of activities as part of the World Mental Health Day.
The aforementioned plan aims to facilitate the reintegration of patients into society, explains Kailesh Jagutpal. He claims that these people will be placed in “homes”. That will cost Rs 20,000 per patient, per month.
The funding will be divided between the Ministry of Social Security and that of Health.
