NEW YORK – A 49-year-old woman was accidentally shot in the head, possibly with a pair of scissors, at a New York City subway station. Central Park North early Monday, authorities said.
The woman was standing on the northbound Line 2 train platform in downtown Harlem at around 2:30 am when a suspect, in her 20s, assaulted her, police said.
He boarded an oncoming train and took it to the next stop, where he reported the attack to authorities, the NYPD said.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover. The suspect fled the scene of the attack.
